Jessica Scarpati at the TAB is reporting that Gil Hoy is stepping down as chairman of the Brookline Board of Selectmen for “personal reasons” [see story].
There’s a lot more to say about this. Stay tuned.
Update: What the…?
In her report Scarpati says that Town Administrator Richard Kelliher has referred all questions to Police Chief Daniel O’Leary. There was a lot of slime thrown on the wall by the more despicable elements of our community this weekend, but this is the first I’ve heard of involvement by Brookline Police.
And for the love of God, if you’re going to foist reporters off on the Chief don’t you think he ought to be available to comment? If there is Brookline PD involvement, then Kelliher, acting as the statutory spokesperson for Brookline Town Government, should make a statement as to what their involvement is.
Every hour is amateur hour with this crew.
Update (2): This story has taken a bizarre turn. And I don’t even know how to write it, as the acts of certain public officials are mind-boggling. Need to confirm a few things, back later.
Update (3): To be clear, as far as anyone can tell, there is absolutely no reason why the Brookline Police should be involved in this matter. Kelliher knows that, and it’s rather egregious for him to suggest a tete-a-tete with our local Barney Fife.
Brookliners ought to be acquainted with Mr. Kelliher’s loyalties before they take anything he says as having virtue. He is the ball peen on a two headed hammer that shows no shame from their many shams. Do I really have to tell you the other iron head is?
