It’s this site’s mission to help bring more transparency to government, and no more so than in the area of campaign finance. Wtih that, we have turned our attention to those who write checks in the Massachusets Race for Governor. According to data filed with the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance, people in Brookline are writing them like crazy for Democratic nominee Deval Patrick.

As of today, Patrick has raised $219,109 among Brookline residents. On the Republican side, Kerry Healey has raised $63,191 in our little burg.

As a further service, onbrookline.com has charted the top donors (total donations of $1,000 or more from a Brookline address) to each campaign. Click here to view the Patrick Campaign’s top donors and here for the Healey Campaign.

As always, onbrookline.com makes no warranty on the accuracy of the data taken from these reports and all information should be independently verified with the Office of Campaign Finance.

  1. [...] The city of Brookline, MA is donating a lot of money to Deval Patrick [...]

  2. Wow. Among the top donors to the Healey campaign are Deborah Shalom, who along with her real estate developer husband Neal, signed the Deb Goldberg ad in the Tab! Another big surprise is Diane Gordon, Chair of Brookline’s Zoning Board of Appeals. Diane Gordon seemed to be more left-leaning when she chaired the St. Aidan’s hearings and appeared to be a staunch supporter of affordable housing.

  3. Diane Gordon is not a friend of the working class or an advocate of the disabled …and may be in her position of power way too long . Turner Esq. is not here any more to correct her findings .

  4. [...] One of the problems in looking through a list of campaign donors from Brookline (as I did with Republican Candidate for Governor Kerry Healey’s campaign) is that you see things that make you go hmm (not to be confused with ummmmmmmmm from Former Republican Congressman Mark Foley). [...]
