Confession of a Fiscal Conservative.

Remember Tony Friscia, the self-described “fiscal conservative” who converted to the need for a Proposition 2.5 override by virtue of having served on the Selectman’s sham study group?  He wrote an op-ed in the TAB which was reprinted by the town government proxy group “Yes for Brookline” in several forms.

In doing research for the Hicks series above, I came across an interesting nugget.  It seems that Friscia is chairman of Brookline High School’s 21st Century Club.  The Club raises money for programs at BHS, which is terrific.

Call me old fashioned, but when Friscia writes an editorial telling voters he’s had an epiphany that the schools need more money [read here], he ought to mention that he raises funds for the high school.
