Selectman incompetence and physical irresponsibility is what created the need for a TAX CEILING INCREASE. (Known As a Proposition 2.5 Override)
I am aghast that slightly over 500 exercised citizenship to vote of 2500 eligible in my precinct (8,) @ Devotion School!
BROOKLINE is quick to spend Other Peoples Money (under FEAR of draconian cuts) which now creates a wider gulf between the haves and have less - further reducing the possibility of ‘average wage earners’ living in Brookline! The only hope for our children to come in contact with “Blue Collar Workers” is the METCO inner-city busing scheme! This override, as altruistic as it was, “Save the Schools” “Don’t cut FIRE and POLICE!” was NOT DONE IN A VACUUM. For TWO sitting Selectmen to be TROUNCED! Ms. Daly, the Chairman of the moment and LONG TIME, well known multi termed candidate Hoye to be removed from office - NOTICE has been served! The FEW WHO CHOSE to Vote were not pleased with the way Town Finances are being handled. Ms. DeWitt, Mr. Allan and our young national campaign worker should take notice that we expect them to handle town finances much more responsibly! This senior citizen will be watching and taking notes. IF I have anything to say about it, never again on a serious money issue will Devotion School precinct 8 voters only cast 500 votes! I do not play golf and shall attack this problem with due vigor!
