Not a Good Night for Cronies.

I wouldn’t call it a shifting tide, but Brookline Town Meeting torpedoed attempts to make life comfortable for town hall flunkies on Articles 20 and 31. The former concerns the easement at 150 Princeton Road and the latter is a resolution urging a police review panel to look into the Arthur Conquest matter.

Both passed over the objections of the more odious elements of town government (i.e., Selectmen Daly, Allen and the Advisory Committee).

On the Conquest matter, the Advisory Committee moved to postpone the matter indefinitely because they were “unable to hear from the Selectmen” (because the Selectmen are the object of a civil complaint). I guess it never occurred to them that they could just take a pass instead of moving for an indefinite postponement.

Not a free thinker in the lot of them.
