Last night the Brookline Selectmen voted to fulfill their contractual obligations and approve the easement at 150 Princeton Road (the subject of tonight’s Article 20 at town meeting).
It was Selectman Jesse Mermell who switched her vote to approve the measure.
And though they were told that the threat of a lawsuit is very real in the matter, Selectmen Nancy Daly and Bobby Allen voted to reject the easement.
Which is really funny because Daly insisted that it was her concern over legal expenses which convinced her that the Selectmen should not hear Arthur Conquest’s appeal of his treatment by Brookline Police on May 24, 2007.
That sounds about right for Daly - deny the black man the right to be heard while helping the town hall crony (Kenneth Kurnos) get the town to involuntarily take a neighbor’s land so as to protect his view.
There’s a word for that. And it seems to fit Daly well.
