Liquor is Quicker?

Gee, for a group who was hell bent to shut down a liquor store for selling to minors (as they did to a Harvard St. package store earlier this year), the Brookline Selectmen sure are taking their time getting two other seeming violations of a liquor license - at Food Center Liquors and The Village Smokehouse - onto their docket. [see previous posts]
On March 9th, Brookline’s Chief of Police Daniel O’Leary told me that, “case files (on these two cases had been sent to Brookline Town Counsel’s Office) with the intent of scheduling a hearing before the Selectmen at an April meeting.”
Well, it’s six weeks later and they’re not on the agenda for this evening’s meeting. Might this have something to do with the fact that these two establishments are clients of the law firm bearing the name of Selectman’s Chair Robert L. Allen, Jr?
Just another happy coincidence, no doubt.
