While we cover the Brookline Selectmen’s march to St. Petersburg (circa 1830) on the matter of granting Arthur Conquest a hearing on the nonsensical internal report that purports to address his handling by the Brookline Police on May 24th, other stories are surfacing on St. Aidan’s and the Brookline School Department’s humiliation of a long time employee.

I’m working on finalizing the details; but hey, lookee here - all three of these items involve Town Counsel Jennifer Dopazo’s office, and all bear the mark of utter incompetence.

Update: The selectmen are scheduled to take up the Conquest matter at 8:00 tonight.

Update (2): Another item almost ready to pop has to do with the town’s cash balance and why our town financiers (staff, selectmen and more odious members of the town’s finance committee) choose to ridicule those who want a full accounting (i.e., former TMM Stanley Wayne) rather than commit to a formal audit function.

All depends on your definition of encumbered…

  1. Just a few years back the Board of Selectmen then led by you know whom pushed for full employment in Brookline of landscape architects. Now it seems the push is for full employment in Brookline of attorneys. (As Pogo might have said, we are up to our necks in attorneys since the Muddy River cannot accommodate alligators.)

  2. Slightly off-topic, but it seems the destruction by the CIA of certain torture tapes was blessed by government attorneys.

Regarding my earlier parenthetical comment, I should point out that Pogo would be much kinder anatomically than I would be. After all, this is a family Blog.
