News out of Portland, Maine is that a middle school in that city will provide access to birth control prescriptions through an independent health center located at the school [see story].

In Brookline, Mass. news, it looks like all systems are go for the town to “gift” an additional $1 million in public funds to the Boston Roman Catholic Archdiocese for its housing project at the former St. Aidan’s Church.

Part of the project’s “mission” is to put social workers on staff to work with residents. You know, to help the teens who will live at the project understand that using birth control is a mortal sin.

An aside: Before My Dulcinea and I were wed, we went through the Catholic training requirement of Pre-Cana. It was there that we were told by one of the women counselors that she enhanced her pleasure during intercourse by saying a Hail Mary throughout it. All the brides-to-be erupted with laughter.

The counselor didn’t get the joke… guess the old man was the only quick one in the family.

  1. Was this joke the spiritual inspiration for the song SLAM, BAM, THANK YOU, MA’AM?
